The Long Leaf boxwood mat trades the tight, clipped look of classic boxwood for something looser and more natural. Its leaves are elongated and slightly overlapping, so the surface flows rather than sits flat — closer to a hedge left to grow than one trimmed to a hard box. From a few feet back it reads as soft, living green.
It works on the same interlocking mat format as the rest of the boxwood line, tiling across walls and fences with panels locked edge to edge and the leaf running in one direction. UV-stabilized polyethylene holds the color outdoors, and the flowing leaf hides seams a little more forgivingly than a rigid, uniform face.
Reach for it where you want greenery to feel relaxed rather than formal — garden walls, patio screens, hospitality backdrops, and residential fences that shouldn't look manufactured. The longer leaf also breaks up flat light, giving a large wall gentle texture instead of a single uniform plane.
Set the mat on a flat substrate or frame and connect the interlocking edges, keeping the leaf flowing the same direction so the natural look stays consistent. Zip-tie the backing to a fence or wire grid, or staple and screw it to plywood. Trim the grid at corners and openings, and layer a cut edge under its neighbor so the flowing leaf covers the seam.

Choose the Long Leaf mat over the standard medium-green boxwood mat when you want a softer, more organic face instead of a tight, clipped one. Same panel format, different personality. How is the Long Leaf different from the Dragon Mat?
Both use an elongated leaf, but toward different ends. The Long Leaf keeps things soft and natural for a relaxed background hedge; the Dragon pushes the shape into a bolder, more architectural statement. Choose by whether you want the wall to recede or stand out.
How do the panels attach?
